Akumal is a coastal resort in the Riviera Maya of Mexico, on the Yucatan Peninsula. Akumal beach has white sand, a coral reef and warm waters with an abundant marine fauna that includes turtles. To the north, Half Moon Bay has a curved beach, while Yal-kú Lagoon is teeming with colorful tropical fish, along with rays and barracudas. Inland, Aktun Chen Natural Park is known for its caves, cenotes, and underground rivers.
